Square Appointments Reviews

Square Online Solutions

Square is a financial technology company that provides various tools and services for businesses, primarily focused on payment processing, point-of-sale (POS) solutions, and financial services. It was founded in 2009 by Jack Dorsey and Jim McKelvey and is headquartered in San Francisco, California

Square Appointments is an appointment scheduling platform that comes with a fully integrated online booking page, payment processing, a website-building tool, and even a point-of-sale (POS) system. Square also offers a mobile app to manage your calendar on the go, and automated SMS and email notifications so your customers never miss an appointment.

As of my last knowledge update in September 2021, Square, the financial technology company, did not have a specific product or service called "Square Price." However, Square offers various pricing models and fees for its different services and products. Here are some key aspects of Square's pricing:

Payment Processing Fees: Square charges a fee for each transaction processed through their payment processing services. The fee can vary depending on the type of transaction (in-person, online, keyed-in), the payment method (credit card, debit card), and other factors. As of my last update, the standard fee for in-person transactions was 2.6% + 10¢ per transaction, while online transactions incurred a fee of 2.9% + 30¢ per transaction.

Square POS Hardware: If you purchase Square's point-of-sale (POS) hardware, such as the Square Reader, Square Stand, or Square Terminal, there may be upfront costs associated with these devices.

Software and Service Fees: Square may charge fees for certain software and services, including their Square for Restaurants and Square for Retail solutions. These fees can vary based on the specific features and services your business requires.

Square Capital: If you utilize Square Capital for small business loans, the fees and repayment terms can vary based on the loan amount and terms offered.

Square Online Store: If you create and manage an online store using Square's e-commerce tools, there may be fees associated with online transactions and website hosting.

Please note that Square's pricing may have evolved or changed since my last update in September 2021. Therefore, it's essential to visit Square's official website or contact their customer support for the most up-to-date and detailed information regarding their pricing, fees, and terms. Square is known for its transparent pricing, and it typically provides clear information on its website to help businesses understand its costs.

Square Appointments plans and pricing

There are three plan options to pick from along with the option for a custom-priced plan. You can cancel or change plans whenever you want, and a free trial is offered for the paid plans.

Free plan: $0 monthly for one location

A majority of the features offered with Square Appointments are available with the Free plan. Those include scheduling, online booking, staff management, client management, integrations, operations and reporting. Keep in mind that the plan can be used for only a single location.

Who Should Use Square Appointments

Offering a fully-featured free plan for single users, Square is a perfect solution for a solopreneur; it is one of our top free appointment-scheduling software. It also offers scheduling tools specifically geared toward salons and beauty businesses, fitness locations, and home repair services.

Square also helps businesses that want to sell merchandise, as every Square account comes with an online store builder and a fully integrated POS system.

Finally, Square is a great fit for businesses on a budget, as even its most expensive plan is only $69 per month, per location.

When to Use an Alternative

Although Square Appointments has a lot to offer, it does lack video integrations, so you cannot host virtual appointments—Picktime is better for this. If you want a customer-facing app, Fresha is better for listing your services on a third-party booking app.

And if you don’t use Google Calendar, you won’t be able to sync your appointments with Square; Calendly is a better option, as it syncs with nearly every platform.

We weighed Square Appointments on its features for both your customers and your business, ease of use, customization capabilities, and whether the tool can grow with your business.
